It was my final Master's thesis project at the Design School Kolding, done in collaboration with the Women's Club at Trampoline House in Copenhagen. I wanted to explore how to promote solidarity and strengthen the sense of agency among refugee and minority women in Denmark through participatory design and creative expression with the use of art-based methods.
I collected the empirical data from different engagements with the stakeholders that varied from volunteering, participant observation and informal chats, to facilitating creative workshops with the women. The final outcome was a zine, which was a result of the co-creation workshop with 11 participants. The zine visually expresses participants' experiences of solidarity and resistance as minority women in Denmark.
The zine was displayed at the contemporary art exhibition Documenta fifteen in Kassel, Germany held in the summer of 2022, along with other works of the in-house artists from Trampoline House.
