This individual school project was about addressing the needs of the rejected asylum seekers at detention center Sjælsmark in Denmark. The challenge was the lack of knowledge about tight immigration rules in Danish society. My research has shown that many were not aware about the appalling conditions at the detention center.
My solution was to create an awareness campaign and an online platform, that could help to empower asylum seekers who cannot leave detention center with technology, by allowing them to connect with the outside world.
I have created an awareness campaign with Trampoline House, an NGO that supports refugees and asylum seekers in Denmark, as a sender. The purpose of the campaign was to get attention to the problem and get funding to create the online platform.
PROCESS
The inspiration for the visuals was refugees life jackets’ color palette. The fluid shapes on the pencil sketches symbolize transition and migration in the hope for better future.
SOLUTION
Below is a front page of the online platform, as well as outdoors posters mock ups for the awareness campaign.
